Bareilly: An FIR has been registered against 31 named individuals and several unidentified persons for an alleged ₹100-crore fraud involving 2.4 hectares of Gram Sabha land in Sambhal district.
The case, registered at Sambhal Kotwali police station following a complaint by revenue official Sparsh Gupta, involves the fraudulent allotment, mutation and occupation of prime land along the Sambhal-Moradabad road in Takhtgushain village.SP Krishna Kumar Bishnoi said that an inquiry revealed the accused secured mutation of the land in 2008 using forged lease documents . Those booked include former deputy director of consolidation Khem Singh Khadak, former Sambhal Municipal Council executive officer Raj Kumar Gupta, and alleged leaseholder Saeedul Rahman Khan alongside his heirs. The accused face charges of cheating, forgery, and violations under the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.
