Urban Development Minister Yathindra Siddaramaiah at the JSS Hospital in Mysuru on Tuesday, to check on the condition of persons injured in a fire that broke out at a restobar.

The condition of one person, who suffered burn injuries in the fire accident at a restobar in Dattagalli in Mysuru on Monday, remains critical.

Minister for Urban Development Yathindra Siddaramaiah, who visited JSS Hospital to enquire about the condition of the injured persons, said one of them had suffered complications affecting the lungs after inhaling carbon dioxide and smoke. His condition requires close medical observation for at least two days, he said.

According to him, the remaining six injured had not sustained severe injuries.

It may be noted here that the fire, which broke out on the second floor restaurant in Dattagalli on the Ring Road, claimed two lives and left seven persons injured. The injured included customers, staff and the owner of the establishment.

Meanwhile, Mr. Yathindra, accompanied by MLA for Chamaraja Harish Gowda, also visited the mortuary at K.R. Hospital. He offered condolences to the family of one of the deceased Sahin.

Responding to queries from reporters about compensation, Mr. Yathindra said he had already discussed the matter with Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, who has assured to release the amount from the Chief Minister’s relief fund.
