Fire engulfs Ghaziabad shoe showroom; 11 fire tenders deployed to douse blaze

A fire broke out at a shoe showroom near the Clock Tower in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad on Tuesday, triggering a firefighting operation and causing panic in the busy commercial area.

The blaze erupted at the showroom in the Kotwali police station area near the iconic Clock Tower, with thick plumes of smoke billowing into the sky. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.

Several fire tenders rushed to the spot soon after the incident was reported. Firefighters launched an intensive operation to contain the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to adjoining shops and buildings in the densely populated market area.

Visuals from the scene showed flames engulfing the showroom as emergency personnel worked to bring the situation under control. Police also reached the spot and cordoned off the area, diverting traffic and keeping onlookers away to facilitate the firefighting operation.

In a statement, Ghaziabad Fire & Emergency Services said swift action was taken after the fire broke out at the Wings Shoes showroom on July 7. The department said a total of 11 fire tenders were deployed to the spot, and the blaze was completely extinguished. It also confirmed that no loss of life was reported in the incident.

The extent of damage to the showroom and nearby properties is yet to be assessed. Authorities are expected to conduct a detailed inspection once the site is declared safe.
