The fire safety officials on Tuesday (June 23, 2026) carried out inspections at a bar in Madhapur and a co-living hostel in Kondapur as part of an ongoing drive to assess preparedness at commercial and residential establishments. The officials stated that Sky100 Kitchen and Bar, located on 100 Feet Road in Madhapur, and Venkateshwara Co-living and PG Hostel, located in New Hafeezpet in Kondapur, lack proper firefighting equipment installations.

During the inspection, officials examined the availability and functionality of the firefighting equipment, emergency exits, evacuation routes, and other fire safety measures. They stated that action would be initiated against the management under the provisions of the Fire Services Act for the lack of fire safety installations.

The inspections were conducted following directions from the Fire Services Department as part of efforts to improve fire safety compliance in commercial establishments and residential facilities.

Director General of Fire Services Vikram Singh Mann stated the department was continuing inspections and awareness programmes across the State to ensure buildings were adequately prepared to prevent and respond to any fire emergencies.

The department advised the building managements and the public to prioritise fire safety and urged cooperation in maintaining safe environments.
