Visuals have emerged of Gaurav Luthra and Saurabh Luthra at Bangkok airport as Thai authorities deported the two men to India in connection with the deadly Goa nightclub fire that killed 25 people earlier this month.

Thailand authorities on Tuesday deported the Luthra brothers, co-owners of the Goa nightclub where the fire broke out on December 6, triggering widespread outrage and a high-level investigation into alleged safety violations.

The deportation comes amid an ongoing probe into the blaze, which led to scrutiny of the nightclub management over alleged lapses in safety norms.

The Luthras are co-owners of Birch by Romeo Lane, a nightclub located in Arpora in North Goa. They had left India for Phuket in Thailand shortly after the incident.

Following their departure, an Interpol Blue Corner Notice was issued against them.

The two were detained by Thai authorities in Phuket on December 11 after the intervention of the Indian mission, which remained in close contact with the Thai government throughout the process.

Several videos circulating online showed the Luthra brothers at Bangkok airport ahead of their departure to India, marking the first visuals of their return since the incident.

Goa Police has arrested five managers and staff members of the nightclub in connection with the case. Officials said further arrests could follow as the investigation progresses.

The Bombay High Court on Monday converted a civil suit against Birch by Romeo Lane into a public interest litigation. “Someone has to be held accountable" for the tragedy, the court observed.

India and Thailand signed an Extradition Treaty in 2013, which came into force in June 2015.
