Five dead in San Antonio flash floods, cars swept away; search continues for missing

At least five people died and two remain missing after flash floods struck San Antonio, Texas, on Thursday, sweeping away vehicles and prompting multiple high-water rescues, ABC reported citing local police.The flooding occurred in the northeastern part of the city near Loop 410. San Antonio Police Chief William McManus and officer Nick Soliz said that 19 people ended up in the water during the flooding.Emergency crews rescued 10 people, while two others managed to escape on their own. Four people were hospitalised with minor injuries.At least 15 vehicles were swept away by fast-moving water, and search efforts are still underway for the two missing individuals.Chief McManus warned drivers about the dangers of attempting to navigate flooded roads. "The depth of the water and the speed at which it's traveling are very hard to gauge. And if you venture into it when the water's deep and the water's moving real fast, you're taking your life into your own hands," he told ABC.
