Five passenger buses seized over violation of norms

Indore: Indore Regional Transport Office and divisional transport flying squad conducted a joint inspection drive, seizing five passenger buses for noncompliance with permit norms.The enforcement operation, led by RTO Pradeep Sharma and flying squad in-charge Akash Sitole, was carried out at Teen Imli intersection. Officials checked vehicles’ compliance with permit conditions, operational status of speed governors, and availability of working fire safety equipment.The officials also engaged directly with passengers to gather feedback regarding driver’s behaviour, specifically checking for instances of speeding or mobile phone usage while driving.RTO officials said that the inspection drive would continue across Indore district, targeting both commercial passenger buses and educational institution vehicles to ensure all transit operators strictly adhere to prescribed transport safety standards.
