Flood fury in Manali: Leh highway washed away, Beas in spate

Shops and houses were swept away, buildings collapsed, highways were cut off, and several residential areas were inundated as heavy rainfall triggered floods and caused the Beas river to overflow in Himachal Pradesh's Manali.

The strong currents of the Beas River washed away a multi-storey hotel and four shops in Manali on Tuesday. With the river in spate, waters entered Alu Ground, and the Manali-Leh highway was blocked at several points, officials said.
