Vijayawada: The special investigation team (SIT) probing the Sai Krishna custodial death case has detained Suresh, a close associate of former Krishnalanka circle inspector Nagaraju, for questioning.Investigators believe Suresh played a crucial role in the events that unfolded after Sai Krishna’s alleged custodial death, making him a key figure in the ongoing investigation. According to sources, the SIT suspects that Suresh assisted Nagaraju in the aftermath of the alleged lockup death, including the disposal of Sai Krishna’s body. Investigators are questioning him about his involvement in the alleged cover-up, his relationship with Nagaraju, and the extent of his interference in police affairs despite not being a police officer.The SIT is also examining allegations that Suresh acted as an intermediary with Sai Krishna’s family following the incident. Officials are attempting to establish the sequence of events after the alleged custodial death and determine whether any evidence was concealed or destroyed.Meanwhile, the hunt for other absconding police personnel linked to the case has intensified. Special teams have been dispatched to Hyderabad and Bengaluru in search of the accused officers.

The SIT has already served notices to head constables Ashok and Jangam Nani, directing them to appear before investigators, while efforts to trace their whereabouts continue.Investigators have also questioned senior police officials, including DCP Krishnakant Patel, task force additional DCP Latha Kumari, and ACP Manasa, to gather information about the events surrounding the case. Officials are simultaneously examining Sai Krishna’s alleged criminal background to understand the circumstances that led to his detention.The Sai Krishna case has triggered widespread public outrage across Andhra Pradesh, with the SIT now expanding its probe to identify the role of every individual allegedly involved in the custodial death and the subsequent attempts to cover it up.
