Former Minister Ku.Pa. Krishnan appointed TNUHDB Chairman; T.N. govt transfers 21 IAS officers

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on Friday appointed former Agriculture Minister Ku.Pa. Krishnan as Chairman of Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board (TNUHDB), an official release said.

Mr. Krishnan served as Minister for Agriculture in former Chief Minister J.Jayalalithaa’s Cabinet between 1991 and 1996. Later he floated his own political outfit – Tamilar Bhoomi – and rejoined the AIADMK and became an MLA. Earlier this year, he joined Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. He unsuccessfully contested Lalgudi Assembly segment in the recent elections.

Separately, in a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Tamil Nadu government on transferred 21 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers. Sandhya Venugopal Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary and Chairperson, Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation, has been transferred and posted as Additional Chief Secretary, Planning and Development.

J. Kumaragurubaran, former Commissioner of the Greater Chennai Corporation, has been posted as Secretary, Commercial Taxes, Registration and Religious Endowments Department, and S. Swarna has been redesignated as Principal Secretary, Tourism, Culture and Special Initiatives Department. Sandeep Nanduri, Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation, has been transferred and posted as Special Secretary, Industries, Investment Promotion and Commerce.

G. Prakash, Principal Secretary and former Member Secretary, Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority, has been transferred and posted as Principal Secretary and Additional Commissioner of Revenue Administration, Commissionerate of Revenue Administration and Disaster Management. V. Shobana, Commissioner of Stationery and Printing, has been transferred and posted as Commissioner of Textiles. Shilpa Prabhakar Satish, Secretary, Commercial Taxes and Registration, has been transferred and posted as Commissioner of Labour.

Kiran Gurrala, Commissioner of Transport and Road Safety, has been transferred and posted as Commissioner of Town and Country Planning. K. Vijayakarthikeyan has been posted as Director of Fisheries. He will also function as Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Fisheries Development Corporation. Mageswari Ravikumar, Director of Handlooms, has been transferred and posted as Director of Social Welfare. K. Senthil Raj, Managing Director, State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu, has been transferred and posted as Director of Adi Dravidar Welfare.

D. Baskara Pandian, Project Director, Tamil Nadu Road Sector Project-II/Chennai-Kanyakumari Industrial Corridor Project, has been transferred and posted as Director of Transport and Road Safety. T. Charusree has been posted as Director of Treasuries and Accounts. G. Ravikumar, former District Collector of Karur district, has been posted as District Collector of Tirupattur district. Asha Ajith, Chief Operating Officer, Tamil Nadu Rural Transformation Project, and Project Director, Tamil Nadu Women Employment and Safety Project, has been transferred and posted as Director of Environment and Climate Change.

T. Christuraj, former Managing Director of Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation Limited, has been posted as Director of Survey and Settlement. D. Karthikeyan, former Principal Secretary, Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department, has been posted as Chairman and Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation. T.G. Vinay, former Managing Director of the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Drainage Board, has been posted as Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Green Energy Corporation, replacing Aneesh Sekhar, who has been posted as Mission Director, National Health Mission.

R.V. Shajeevana, former Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Corporation for Development of Women Limited, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of the Tamil Nadu Rural Transformation Project. She will also hold the post of Project Director, Tamil Nadu Women Employment and Safety Project, in full additional charge. S.A. Raman, Commissioner of Labour, has been posted as Managing Director of the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu. Lalitaditya Neelam, Additional Commissioner (G), Directorate of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, has been posted as Commissioner of Salem Municipal Corporation.
