Mapusa: Police arrested four people on Thursday in connection with a knife attack on two pay-parking employees.Two employees posted at a private pay-parking were attacked with sharp weapons by five people on Wednesday.
The incident took place in the parking lot at a private complex in Morod, Mapusa, around 11am on Ganesh Chaturthi day.According to the police one of the victims was seriously injured in the attack and the police registered a case of attempt to murder against the accused.Bhuvan Govekar, 18, Dashrath Govekar, 25, Rupsai Arondekar, 18, and Aniket Shirodkar, 18, have been arrested by the Mapusa police and another accused is still at large.Sources said that one of the accused had parked his bike incorrectly. Sandeep Kumar, who was posted to collect parking fees, asked him to park his vehicle properly. Angered by this, the accused first hit Kumar on the head with a car key. Then he called his accomplices and five of them attacked Kumar. Meanwhile, the accused also attacked Prakash Talwar, who tried to save his colleague, with a knife and stabbed him in the stomach.After the incident, they fled the scene. Both the injured were immediately admitted to the Mapusa district hospital.Mapusa police are further investigating the case.
