Four arrested for road rage assault

Margao: Four persons were arrested on Thursday in connection with a road rage incident that occurred on Wednesday in Margao, where two men were allegedly assaulted following a quarrel.According to the police complaint, Benaulim resident and Uttarakhand native, Mohammad Rashid, said the altercation began when a motorcyclist became aggressive over the issue of overtaking. Rashid alleged that the rider initially abused him and then struck his left bicep with a screwdriver. When he attempted to escape and seek refuge at the urban health centre, 15 other people joined the rider and chased Rashid to the health centre, where they kicked him and assaulted him with a fire extinguisher.Rashid’s brother, Mohammad Shavez, was also reportedly attacked. Those arrested are Abdul Nabawale, Imam Kassi and Rehan Shaikh, all from Pajifond; and Imran Ballary from Moti Dongor.
