Four held in Mandsaur man’s murder over revenge case

Indore: Four people, including the main accused and a minor, were arrested in connection with the murder of a Mandsaur man, with Kotwali police claihe killing was carried out to avenge the murder of one of the accused's brothers around two-and-a-half months ago.Ravi Mali, a resident of Karmachari Colony in Mandsaur, was found critically injured on Jaggakhedi-Abhinandan Kachchi Road on June 27 after Kotwali police received a Dial 112 alert. He was rushed to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead.Based on a complaint lodged by his relative, Sumit Mali, Kotwali police registered a case against Yash alias Yashwant Mali, Akash Verma, Vikas Verma, Raj Verma and others, and launched an investigation.

During the probe, investigators identified six people allegedly involved in the murder. Police first apprehended a minor suspect from Indore. Acting on subsequent intelligence inputs, they arrested the alleged main accused, Ajay Verma, 31 , Ashish Verma, 29 , and Sandeep Verma, 25 .Police said the accused told investigators during preliminary questioning that their brother, Arun Verma, was murdered about two-and-a-half months ago by Yuvraj Mali and his associates. Police said the accused targeted Ravi, father of Yuvraj Mali, in retaliation for that killing.The four arrested accused were produced before a court, which granted their police remand for further investigation. Police said two more suspects are still absconding and further arrests are likely.
