Four illegal commercial buildings demolished in Ludhiana

Ludhiana: Continuing its crackdown on unauthorised structures, the building branch of the municipal corporation demolished four under-construction illegal buildings in areas falling under Zone D on Friday.The enforcement action took place simultaneously on Barewal Road, Apex Nagar (Barewal Road), Model Town-Jawaddi Road, and near Phullanwal Chowk. Civic officials stated that the demolition drive was conducted on the express directions of municipal commissioner Ojasvi Alankar.According to civic body officials, the owners of these properties were erecting the structures in blatant violation of building bylaws. Despite receiving official notices and warnings to halt work, the builders failed to stop the illegal construction, prompting the civic body to initiate demolition.Following the drive, civic officials appealed to residents and commercial developers to begin construction work only after obtaining duly approved building plans from the Municipal Corporation to avoid similar punitive action.
