Four injured in bus-truck collision on Salem- Yercaud ghat road

SALEM: Four people suffered minor injuries and traffic was disrupted for more than an hour after a truck collided with a private bus at the second hairpin bend on the Yercaud ghat road on Thursday morning.The bus carrying more than 40 passengers was going to Salem from Yercaud while the truck was going towards Yercaud. As both vehicles attempted to turn at the narrow curve, they collided with each other, according to police.“Three bus passengers and truck driver S Panneerselvam, 51, of Kollapatti sustained minor injuries,” said an officer at the Yercaud police station. Fellow passengers and residents rescued the injured and sent them to Salem Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College and Hospital. Traffic on the road was restored after police reached the spot and removed the vehicles.A case was registered.
