Bhopal: Four people, including three members of a tribal family died, after a severe pre-monsoon storm accompanied by rain hit Sheopur district on Friday afternoon. Normal life too was disrupted in the region due to power outages and trees blocking roads.Police said three members of a tribal family died after a wall collapsed on them in Suswada village under Aavda police station area. Bhima (40), his wife Seema (38), and Rajvati (21) were working in the field when heavy rain and strong winds began around 4 pm. They took shelter under a tin shed. Nearby wall collapsed due to the storm and fell on them. All three died on the spot.In another incident in the Salapura area, a woman identified as Bharosi Vaishnav, 80, died after an auto-rickshaw overturned in strong winds and hit her.
She suffered serious injuries and died on the spot.Storm uprooted trees, damaged electricity poles and blew away tin sheds and roofs of mud houses in several areas. Fallen trees disrupted traffic while snapped power lines caused outages in parts of the district.Officials said revenue teams are assessing damage. Municipal and police teams are clearing roads and restoring normalcy, they added.
