Thendral Movement, a local NGO, in collaboration with Apollo Hospital (Chennai), organised a free medical camp for Sholaga community and residents of Karivedu in Ranipet on Friday.
According to a press release, students of Madras School of Social Work (MSSW) in Chennai participated in the medical camp, which is part of a five-day Rural Exposure Camp. A team of specialists from Apollo Hospital provided consultations, and conducted basic health check-ups.
Free medicines, health awareness sessions, and follow-up referrals were also offered to the beneficiaries. More than 250 villagers availed themselves of the services.
The programme created awareness on preventive healthcare, and addressed key health concerns in rural areas. It was well-received by the Sholaga community and Karivedu residents, the release said.
