 Cop-turned-actor balances uniform and spotlight

Aloke Sanyal, a dedicated police officer, seamlessly balances his law enforcement duties with a thriving career in cinema and storytelling. He has built an impressive portfolio in films like Eken Babu and Dasham Avatar, along with OTT series such as Sampurna 2 and Aabar Rajniti.

Aloke Sanyal might be a police officer by profession, but it's the world of cinema and storytelling that keeps his creative spirit thriving. Seamlessly balancing law enforcement and the lens, Sanyal has built an enviable portfolio in both films and series—making him a rare example of passion meeting perseverance.His film journey includes titles like Manob Jamin, Jakher Dhan, Srijato, Araner Prachin Prabhat, Sadaragar Prithivi, Rajasri, and the currently talked about Eken Babu, directed by Joydeep Mukherjee. Sanyal has also worked in Dasham Avatar and Kill Bill Society where his performance were much talked about. He has completed films like C/O Bhalobasha, Sesh Bela Rohaner, Hul, Bhalobasha Morshum, Bansara, Maharath, Danob, and Hema Malini. "I have two films lined up and I am looking forward to it. One is with Rituparna Sengupta in Bela Bose where I play a pivotal character. And the other one is with Swastika Mukherjee in Promoter Bodhi where too my role is quite meaty," said Sanyal.

On the OTT and television front, Sanyal has been a steady presence with projects like Sampurna 2, Birangana, Byamakhyapa, Nastonir, Milkshake Border, Batashe Gungun, Lajja,Chemistry Masi, Aabar Rajniti, Kal Ratri, Nikonstro to name a few. On television, Aloke has lent his touch to popular serials like Jagatdhatri, Anurager Chhoya, and Katha—all hits in their own right, though his packed schedule now leaves him little time to pursue serial work. "Acting is something I love to pursue as playing different characters in front of the camera is quite challenging," said Sanyal. Despite a demanding job in uniform, Sanyal continues to pursue acting with unwavering commitment, proving that passion, when genuine, always finds a way.
