PM Modi will inaugurate a new emergency landing facility in Moran and Rs 3,000-crore Brahmaputra bridge in Guwahati during his Assam visit.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch key infrastructure projects in Assam today. This comes months before the state assembly elections and marks his third visit to Assam in the last three months.
The Prime Minister will reach the Chabua airfield in Dibrugarh district at 9.50 AM. After that he will travel to Moran to open a new emergency landing facility (ELF).
The Rs 100-crore facility stretches 4.2 kilometres and is designed for aircraft landings during emergencies. After the inauguration, he will watch a 20-minute aerial display featuring fighter jets, transport aircraft and helicopters.
PM Modi Will Head To Guwahati
PM Modi will then fly from the ELF to Guwahati, where he is set to inaugurate the Rs 3,000-crore Kumar Bhaskar Varma Setu across the Brahmaputra river.
The 1.24-km bridge links Guwahati with North Guwahati and is expected to improve regional connectivity and city traffic movement.
The project has been built in one of the country’s most difficult riverine conditions.
CM Himanta Biswa Shares Pictures Online
Ahead of the inauguration, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared some pictures of Kumar Bhaskar Varma Setu, Guwahati, and wrote, “Infrastructure that goes hard."
In a second post, he extended a welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and wrote,"A warm welcome to Adarniya Pradhan Mantri Shri @narendramodi ji to the sacred land of Maa Kamakhya and Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev. Assam eagerly awaits the inauguration of landmark projects that will power connectivity, technology and growth across our state."

Benefits And Design
The bridge is expected to reduce travel time, ease congestion and support the movement of commuters, goods vehicles and long-distance travellers.
Engineers used an extradosed design instead of a conventional suspension structure to provide greater strength and durability while enabling faster construction over the wide river span.
After completing the inaugurations, the Prime Minister will also address BJP party workers as part of his visit.
