Usain Bolt hints at a cricket comeback for Jamaica at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, as cricket returns after 128 years.

Usain Bolt might be retired, but don’t expect him to fade quietly into sporting folklore that easily.

The world’s fastest man has floated the idea of a surprise return at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics — not on the track, but on the cricket field.

Cricket is set to return to the Olympics for the first time in 128 years, and Bolt has cheekily suggested he’d be ready if Jamaica came calling.

Speaking to Esquire, the eight-time Olympic gold medallist admitted the title “World’s Fastest Man" still makes him smile, before teasing fans with one more what-if.

“I am happily retired from professional sport," the 39-year-old said.

“I haven’t played cricket in a long time, but if they call, I will be ready!"

Bolt’s love affair with cricket is no secret. Long before retirement, he regularly spoke about his passion for the game, and in 2014, he even grabbed headlines during a viral PUMA face-off challenge with Indian star Yuvraj Singh — finishing the exhibition by smashing the final ball for six.

Cricket’s return at LA 2028 will be fast and furious, fittingly enough.

The Olympic format will feature six teams per gender, split into two groups of three. Each side plays the others once, with the top four advancing to medal matches. Gold and silver will be decided in a final, while bronze will be settled in a third-place playoff.

As for Bolt, his competitive resume needs no introduction.

He remains the most decorated sprinter the sport has ever seen, winning 100m and 200m gold at three straight Olympics — Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 2016. He retired after the 2017 World Championships in London with eight Olympic gold medals officially to his name, following the stripping of Jamaica’s 2008 relay title.
