Madison Beer admits social media drives her to a monthly breaking point
Beer has 40.2 million Instagram followers, but she told host Zach Sang that the platform regularly gets to her. "Trust me, I'm not trying to scare my fans. But literally once a month I have a full-blown breakdown about it and I'm like, 'I need to get off social media forever.'
For the most part, my life is on a good path though, and I'm really happy, so I don't know if all this is going to be a part of it for much longer," she said.
The interview aired on March 6, just one day after Beer's birthday on March 5. Herbert, who turns 28 on March 10, marked the occasion with a rare personal moment on Instagram Stories. Per Billboard, the typically private Chargers quarterback posted a black-and-white photo of the two of them and wrote, "Happy birthday to my favorite person of all time.
I love you so much. You've changed my life forever." A second post followed: "I am the luckiest guy alive.
"Beer's own birthday post drew a comment from Hailey Bieber, who called her a "birthday angel." Herbert responded with just two words: "My love."
Beer's 'codependent' confession gives Justin Herbert fans reason to raise an eyebrow
The social media comments were not what got the most traction. During the same "Zach Sang Show" episode, Beer opened up about staying in relationships long past their expiration date."I'm admittedly a codependent person, who I love really hard. And if you're someone who I fall in love with, I usually stay pretty attached to you for a long time," she said. She went further, describing a cycle of breaking up and getting back together with a past partner despite pushback from friends."I know that me and my ex-boyfriend, we would break up and get back together, and our friends would always be like, 'What are you doing?' We just want to make it work.
It's just like, when is it time? And especially when you get in the cycle of break up, back together, break up, back together. It's like, when does it feel like it's really, really done? It's a lot," she added.Per Grant Young of Sporting News, the clip went viral and drew concern from Herbert's fanbase, who are hoping Beer's admitted tendencies do not resurface in their current relationship.Beer and Herbert have been together since at least August 2025. They went public in October, attending a Chargers game at SoFi Stadium and an NBA game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Minnesota Timberwolves at Crypto.com Arena, per The Sporting News.
