All eyes will again be on double Olympic champion Neera Chopra as he competes in the 2025 Wanda Diamond League (DL) Final in Zurich, Switzerland. He will face tough competition from rivals Anderson Peters of Grenada and Germany’s Julian Weber in his attempt to regain the DL trophy

Chopra skipped the last leg of the series in Brussels. He previously won the trophy in 2022 before finishing second in 2023 and 2024. The 27-year-old qualified for this year’s DL Final in fourth place.

He competed in two qualifying legs for it. In the Doha leg in May, he breached the elusive 90 metre mark with a throw of 90.23m but came runner-up behind Weber. He then clinched the Paris leg in June with an effort of 88.16m, which was played in much more difficult conditions.

This DL is a short but highly competitive winner-takes-all competition across 32 events. Every winner will receive the coveted Diamond Trophy and a wild card entry for the World Championships.
