Gaurav’s family assets jump to 7.57cr from 4.66cr in 2024

Guwahati: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee president Gaurav Gogoi has declared his and his wife’s assets worth Rs 7.57 crore in his nomination affidavit for the assembly polls, up from Rs 4.66 crore in 2024.His wife Elizabeth Clare Gogoi accounts for the larger share of the couple’s wealth.The 43-year-old Lok Sabha MP from Jorhat, contesting his first assembly election, declared investments in bonds, shares and mutual funds worth Rs 11.47 lakh, while his wife’s stand at Rs 47.12 lakh.He has Rs 32.68 lakh in postal and insurance instruments, while his wife holds Rs 1.04 crore under this head, along with EPF savings of RS 57.25 lakh and a UK pension plan of Rs 13.24 lakh.

Elizabeth Gogoi also owns 331g of gold worth Rs 46.12 lakh, silver worth Rs 11.36 lakh, and diamond jewellery valued at Rs 3.65 lakh.Gogoi owns two vehicles worth over Rs 17 lakh, while his wife has one car worth Rs 2.71 lakh. In immovable property, Gogoi holds a one-third share in two Guwahati properties, including a three-storey residential building valued at Rs 95 lakh, and an inherited flat in Delhi’s Vasant Kunj worth Rs 1.54 crore. He has an outstanding car loan of Rs 5.96 lakh.The affidavit also mentions a pending case against him at Basishta police station in Guwahati, relating to alleged obstruction of govt servants during the Congress’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Jan 2024.
