In a dramatic turn of events, Gaya police nabbed Vikas Kumar Yadav for allegedly fabricating an AI-generated image that featured a controversial portrayal of CM Nitish Kumar's son alongside a female legislator. The edited photograph went viral on social media, igniting a flurry of discussions before it was swiftly taken down.
Gaya: The Gaya police on Sunday arrested Vikas Kumar Yadav, a resident of Shabdo village under Fatehpur police station of the district, on charges of creating an AI-generated photograph of CM Nitish Kumar’s son Nishant Kumar with a woman legislator.The photograph was uploaded to a popular social media platform on Friday and quickly gained traction. The photograph has since been deleted and is no longer available for public viewing.As the photograph went viral, the cyber cell of the district police swung into action. On the basis of digital evidence, it arrested Vikas.Wazirganj SDPO Sunil Kumar Pande said a case had been registered against Vikas under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and he had been sent to jail.
Asked about the involvement of any other person in the matter, the SDPO said no evidence of any other person’s involvement had emerged so far. The case is under investigation, he added.In his confessional statement, Vikas has not named any other person. He simply did it for fun, Vikas told the police.Asked about any criminal or political background of the arrested man, the SDPO said at this stage nothing adverse was known about his background.
