Commissioner seeks custody of suspect in Dehradun case

Visakhapatnam: Parupudi Radha Gayatri’s parents Sudhakar and Satyavathi on Saturday met with Visakhapatnam commissioner of police Dr Shankhabrata Bagchi and briefed him on the sequence of events related to the mysterious death of their daughter Radha Gayatri at Mussoorie, Dehradun.

During the meeting, Sudhakar explained the current situation as well as past developments. He also brought to the Commissioner’s notice the misinformation being circulated in Vizag media by suspect Sricharan, including false statements about Radha Gayatri and her family.The parents expressed that they were unable to control the spread of these statements and had already informed Uttarakhand officials regarding the matter.

The purpose of today’s meeting was to seek the support of Visakhapatnam Police in ensuring proper coordination with Uttarakhand authorities. Dr Shankhabrata Bagchi, spoke with Uttarakhand police officials and assured full support in the case. He also provided guidance to the victim’s parents on specific points they should raise with the Investigation Officer to expedite the process.The commissioner of police stated that suspect Sricharan cannot be allowed to remain outside Dehradun and should be taken into custody immediately. Dr Bagchi expressed condolences to the family and assured that Visakhapatnam Police will extend all possible assistance to ensure justice in the unfortunate incident involving Radha Gayatri.
