GBU introduces five new industry-focused programmes for 2026–27

The admission to over 4,000 seats are now open

Noida: Gautam Buddha University (GBU) has introduced five new academic programmes for the 2026-27 session and opened admissions to more than 4,000 seats across 152 courses offered by its eight schools.The new courses include an MSc in Nuclear Medicine, being offered in collaboration with Max Healthcare Institute, and an MSc in Geospatial and Data Science. Two diploma programmes, including Advanced Diploma in Child Guidance and Counselling, approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India, and a postgraduate diploma in Heritage Restoration and Management in collaboration with Central Building Research Institute, Roorkee, have also been added.

A certificate programme in Gym Management is also among the new offerings.“The programmes are designed to meet the emerging demand of the market. As per the CBSE guidelines, every school must have a child counsellor and GBU is going to lead in providing the resources to the schools,” academic dean of GBU Rajiv Varshney said.A total of 4,077 seats are available across programmes this year. This includes 2,620 seats in 55 undergraduate courses and 1,265 seats in 61 postgraduate courses.

In addition, 70 seats are available in diploma and certificate programmes, and 102 seats in 21 PhD programmes. The university is also offering 12 lateral-entry options.Admissions will be conducted through three routes depending on the course: direct admission, the university’s entrance test (GBU-ET 2026) for select programmes such as BSc (Hons) Clinical Psychology, MBA, LLM and PhD, and national or state-level examinations including CUET, CAT, MAT, NATA, CLAT and JEE.From the 2026-27 session, GBU will admit students through the CUET system for the first time. Up to 50% of seats are to be filled based on CUET scores. The university has also shifted its admission process to the Samarth portal for the upcoming academic cycle.The university has announced new entrance scholarships for first-year students in civil, electrical and mechanical engineering, along with provisions for academic progression scholarships in subsequent years.

A 20% tuition fee concession is available for students from schools affiliated with the Noida and Greater Noida Education Society.“GBU has also implemented provisions of National Education Policy 2020 in its academic structure. It has ongoing collaborations and research linkages with multiple organisations, including Monash University, and has signed more than 40 MoUs with national and international institutions,” the vice chancellor, Rana Pratap Singh, said.
