Surat: Surat entrepreneurs who returned after a week-long visit to African country Ghana said that they have got important leads for many business opportunities in Ghana in the areas ranging from rice supply to ferry services and from textile machinery sales to gold trading.
A delegation of 13 industrialists from Surat who went to Ghana under the auspices of Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industries (SGCCI) said that Ghana can prove to be an important gateway to reach 54 countries in the African continent.
Ashok Jirawala, Vice President of the SGCCI who went to Ghana with the delegation to Surat industrialists, said that the main objective of the visit was to further strengthen bilateral trade relations, explore new investment opportunities and promote business cooperation at the global level.
Surat industrialists have got important business leads in Ghana in various sectors like engineering, textiles, solid waste management, water treatment, pharmaceuticals, gold and diamonds, automobiles, heavy mining equipment, ICT and hygiene products and now negotiations have started between the representatives of both the countries to take the business to the final stage.
Chamber of Commerce President Nikhil Madrasi said that this tour of the Chamber of Commerce will open new avenues of trade and investment with these two countries of India and Africa and the industries of Surat and South Gujarat will get more opportunities at the international level. All these industrialists and representatives are working in various industry sectors and they tried to find new opportunities of trade and investment at the global level by participating in this international delegation.
A delegation of 13 industrialists from different sectors, under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce, held meetings with the Ghanaian government, industrialists, businessmen and organizations.
