Girl dies after dupatta gets entangled around her neck

ERODE: A seven-year-old girl died after a dupatta got entangled around her neck in Erode on Wednesday night, police said.The deceased girl has been identified as Deekshana, daughter of Ramakrishnan and Mohanapriya of EBP Nagar in the city.

Ramakrishnan is a truck driver while Mohanapriya is a homemaker.On Wednesday evening, the girl was playing outside their house wearing her mother's dupatta around her neck. “Mohanapriya asked her daughter to go for tuition. The girl went into the house and did not come out for a long time," said an officer at the Erode North police station. Mohanapriya went inside and found her daughter lying unconscious.The girl was rushed to govt hospital where doctors examined her and declared her dead. The police began investigations.
