Girls outperform boys in CBSE Class X exams

Girls have outshone boys in Bihar's CBSE Class X results, with the Patna zone recording an 89.33% pass rate. While the overall pass percentage saw a slight dip, girls achieved a higher success rate. Kendriya Vidyalayas and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas excelled, and several Patna schools reported outstanding performances, with top scorers achieving nearly perfect marks.

Patna: Girls outperformed boys in CBSE Class X (session-1) board exams in Bihar, whose results were declared on Wednesday.Patna zone, which covers whole Bihar, recorded an overall pass percentage of 89.33.

The figure marks a 2.57% drop from 2025 when the zone posted 91.90 pass percentage. The pass percentage of girls was 90.49, while boys recorded 88.60.

From Bihar, 1,81,401 students, including 1,12,290 boys and 69,111 girls, registered for the exam. A total of 1,79,418 candidates appeared in the examination, including 1,10,933 boys and 68,485 girls. Of them, 1,60,275 cleared the exam, including 98,304 boys and 61,971 girls.In Patna zone, Kendriya Vidyalaya recorded 99.6 pass percentage, while Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) 99.29.A total of 452 students scored above 90% and 91 students crossed the 95% marks in the Patna zone. This year, 1.47 lakh students were placed in compartment, up from 1.41 lakh in 2025.Several schools in Patna reported good results.Doyal Prabha of DAV Public School, Khagaul, emerged as the school topper with 99.6% marks. The principal, teachers, and students congratulated her for the achievement.

In St Michael’s High School, Patna, out of 356 candidates, 352 passed the exam. School’s topper Abhishek Mishra scored 98.2% marks followed by Ekaansh Shrisay with 97.2% and Aishwarya Anmol and Divyansh Raj with 97%. A total of 130 students from the school scored above 90%.The pass percentage of St Karen’s School was 100%. Priyanshu with 98.4% score was the topper, while second position was bagged by Prabha Jha with 98.2% marks and Anurag Bharti stood third with 97.8% score.School principal, Seema Singh said, “A total of 87 students scored between 90% and 100%, and 21 students scored above 80%.”RPS Girls Public School also reported a strong show. Shambhavi Pandey topped in the school with 96%, Shraddha Shri was second with 92% score and Vaishnavi Kumari third with 91% marks. The school said 21 girls scored above 80%, bringing laurels to the institutionCBSE said while Kendriya Vidyalayas led the charts, govt schools improved their overall performance.The board officials said detailed district-wise and school-wise results for Bihar will be uploaded on the CBSE portal. Students can access individual results through the official website and DigiLocker, they said.
