Global tourism campaign for Durga Puja festival

Kolkata: State Finance Minister Swapan Dasgupta announced a focused tourism branding campaign in the budget to promote Durga Puja as a global cultural festival.“Durga Puja is the cultural soul of Bengal. Recognised internationally for its unique heritage value, it offers Bengal a distinctive opportunity to position itself as a premier global cultural tourism destination,” Dasgupta said.The campaign will be themed 'Durga Puja: A Global Festival, Bengal’s Eternal Emotion' and will showcase themed pandals, traditional rituals, art, music and community celebrations.The initiative will include special tourism circuits, curated festival experiences, international promotional campaigns, improved visitor amenities, digital guides and partnerships with travel operators to attract domestic and foreign tourists.
