A burglary was reported late Saturday night at the residence of retired judge Giribala Singh, one of the prime accused in the Twisha Sharma murder case, prompting police to launch an intensive investigation into the high-profile incident.

According to police, three masked men allegedly broke into Singh's house at around 2 am through a rear entrance on the first floor. The house, which has remained under scrutiny since the Twisha Sharma case came to light, was occupied only by Singh's elder son at the time, as Giribala Singh and her younger son, Samarth Singh, are currently in judicial custody in connection with the murder case.

Initial reports suggest the burglars stole gold jewellery and several important documents before attempting to flee. During routine night patrolling, personnel from a police Charlie vehicle noticed suspicious movement in the area and approached the suspects for questioning. However, the three men allegedly resisted the police, engaged in a scuffle and managed to escape.

While fleeing, the suspects reportedly abandoned a bag containing silver bowls and several documents. Police are now verifying whether the recovered items belong to Giribala Singh's residence or were stolen from another location.

CCTV FOOTAGE BEING EXAMINED

Assistant Commissioner of Police Rajneesh Kashyap confirmed the incident, stating that CCTV footage from the house and surrounding areas is being examined to identify the suspects and reconstruct the sequence of events. Investigators are also assessing the extent of the theft, as family members have not yet been able to determine the full list of missing valuables and documents.

A formal complaint is being lodged by the family, following which an FIR will be registered. Police have launched a search operation to trace the three accused and are relying on CCTV footage and other technical evidence as part of the investigation.

The burglary has raised fresh questions over the security of the property, particularly as the residence has remained significant in the Twisha Sharma murder investigation and is considered an important location linked to the ongoing case. Authorities said further details regarding the stolen property and the identity of the accused would be disclosed once the investigation progresses.
