New Delhi: Google has recently started to rolling out an latest upgrade to its Find Hub website that now supports tracking tags and compatible accessories, such as headphones, extending functionality beyond phones and tablets.
This upgrade will enable users to locate and manage more devices directly from the desktop browser. With this latest upgrade, the users can ring trackers, mark items as lost, rename the devices, and remove them online, similar to the Android application experience.
The web version was limited to devices like phones, tablets, Wear OS watches, and select audio products, but it now includes broader accessory support by including items like wireless earbuds. The refreshed website also brings a Material 3-based layout for the desktop, while the mobile interface mirrors the native application design. The new People tab has also been added as part of the expanded interface.
This comes shortly after Google introduced its Find Hub integration in the Messages application and announced the ability to track lost luggage by sharing the feature with airlines, as Google continues to extend its device-tracking ecosystem.
Google Find Hub is a device-tracking service that helps users to locate their lost or misplaced gadgets and accessories linked to their Google account. It also works across the range of devices, including smartphones, tablets, Wear OS watches, and the supported audio products, and is accessible via both an Android application and a web interface.
The platform also enables users to track the location of their devices on a map, to make them ring to find nearby items, and mark them as lost if they go missing. The users can also manage device details remotely, such as renaming or removing them from their account, making it easier to stay in control even if the device is not physically with them.
Find Hub is also expanding to support the tracking tags and more accessories alongside features like sharing location details in specific use cases. It is especially designed to offer a centralized way to keep track of personal devices and to improve the chances of recovering lost items.
