New Delhi: Google officially started rolling out its Gemini 3.1 Pro, the latest update to its AI model lineup. This latest upgrade is now making its way to the Gemini application and is also available inside the NotebookLM for eligible users. This version improves the core reasoning abilities of Gemini by aiming to handle more layered and demanding tasks.
That could change how people rely on AI for studying, analyzing information, coding, or even working on creative ideas.
Gemini 3.1 Pro is a model built for the situations where the quick summary just doesn’t cut it. Rather than providing surface-level answers, it actually meant that to unpack the complex topics, organize scattered information, and present it in a more structured way. For the users, this might translate into clearer explanations of tricky subjects, more organized research notes, and better synthesis of the large chunks of data.
Google has also pointed to improvements in benchmark tests. On ARC-AGI-2, which also measures how well an AI system can tackle unfamiliar logic problems, Gemini 3.1 Pro has scored 77.1%. Google has also mentioned that it has more than doubled the reasoning performance of Gemini 3 Pro on the same test.
While the benchmark numbers don’t always reflect day-to-day use directly, they have suggested that the model should be more reliable when dealing with complicated queries.
Google has also stated that the model can create animated SVG graphics from a simple text prompt. These visuals are written in the code rather than exported as video files; they stay sharp at any size and typically take up less storage. For the developers, the designers, or even students experimenting with web projects, this could simplify certain tasks.
Google has also positioned Gemini 3.1 Pro as better at handling multi-step reasoning. Relevant for the task that involves planning, analyzing multiple inputs, or producing structured outputs instead of single-line answers.
