New Delhi: Google has started to expand its video creation tool, Google Vids, which comes with a set of latest AI-powered features to make the video creation faster and more accessible for users. This latest upgrade comes with free video generation, AI-generated music, and customizable avatars, alongside easier recording and direct publishing tools.
Google is now positioning Vids as an all-in-one platform where users can create, edit, and share videos without relying heavily on manual editing or any other external tools.
It is especially designed for quick video presentations, which leverage AI to streamline the process with tools for storyboarding, scene suggestions, stock imagery, and background music, making the video creation more accessible. The platform now becomes more AI-driven by enabling users to generate content instead of building everything manually.
Rather than recording, editing, and adding effects separately, users can now rely on AI tools to handle much of the process.
There is one major improvement in the unveiling of free video generation. And by using Veo 3.1, the users can create short video clips from a simple text prompt or even a simple photo. All personal accounts will get up to 10 video generations per month free of cost. This might be very useful for quick content like social media posts, greeting clips, or basic promotional videos. Users who need more video generation can switch to higher plans.
Adding AI-generated music via Google’s Lyria 3 and Lyria 3 Pro models. These tools will enable users to create soundtracks that match the tone of their videos. Subscribers to the Google AI Pro and Ultra plans can generate music clips ranging from 30 seconds to three minutes. It also removes the need to search for royalty-free music or edit audio manually.
AI avatars in Google Vids are especially designed to act like on-screen presenters, by offering the users a consistent video face and voice throughout. It is powered by the Veo 3.1; users can go beyond simple talking heads and place avatars into different scenes.
Users can also make them interact with objects like products or props and position them against custom backgrounds. This actually makes it easier for the users to create tutorials, social media videos, or storytelling content without needing to record themselves multiple times.
Google has also come up with a screen recorder extension for Google Chrome that lets users capture their screen and even themselves without opening Google Vids separately. The users can start recording instantly while browsing any website. It brings the same recording tools available inside the Vids to their browser, by making the process quicker and more convenient.
One more benefit that users get is that they can directly upload their videos to YouTube from Google Vids. There is no need to download the file first and then re-upload it manually. And by default, the videos are uploaded as private, so they can review and make changes before making them public. Higher-tier subscribers can generate up to 1,000 AI videos per month, showing that Google is now pushing Vids as a more complete content creation platform.
