Gopal Khemka was a well-known businessman who was also a BJP leader. He was shot dead while he was on his way to his residence at around midnight.

BJP leader and businessman, Gopal Khemka, was shot dead outside his residence in Bihar’s Patna on Friday night.

The incident took place at around 11 pm when he was turning to his home, which is adjacent to the Panache Hotel in the Gandhi Maidan police station area. He lived in the Twin Tower society.

The accused fled from the spot immediately as the BJP leader died on the spot.

The police reached the crime scene and recovered a bullet and a shell.

“On the night of July 4, at around 11 pm, we received information that businessman Gopal Khemka had been shot dead in the south area of the Gandhi Maidan… The crime scene has been secured, and further investigation is underway… One bullet and one shell have been recovered," Patna SP, Diksha, said.

The police are investigating the cause of the murder.
