Lucknow: Governor Anandiben Patel, chancellor of state universities, on Wednesday administered an oath to graduating students of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University, urging them to respect Indian languages and motivate others to do the same.Speaking at the university’s 11th convocation, Patel said education should extend beyond personal achievement and be used to drive positive social change. She stressed the need to preserve Indian languages and strengthen research in universities.Highlighting technology’s growing role in higher education, the governor said artificial intelligence offers significant opportunities for language learning, translation, academic research and safeguarding India’s linguistic heritage.
Patel conferred 125 medals at the ceremony, with 74 awarded to women and 51 to men.She also directed universities to study the backgrounds of medal-winning students, especially those who succeeded despite financial or social hardships, so their journeys could inspire future batches of students.Health check drive flags anaemia, weight issues among girl studentsMaa Beti Samwaad was held during the convocation in which blood test reports of 120 girl students were handed over to their mothers in the presence of the governor . Around 45% were found to be anaemic. BMI assessments showed that 24% of the students were overweight, while 19% were underweight. Governor advised students to take steps for good health.
