Nashik: The state government has approved 192 staff positions for two state-run hospitals in Nashik that are in the final completion stage.The construction of a 105-bed hospital facility is currently underway at the Referral Service Hospital in Nashik for specialized departments of paediatrics, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, and a neonatal intensive care unit.
Another 100-bed women’s hospital in Nashik is also nearing completion. Nashik Central MLA Devyani Pharande has been demanding that govt announce the staff positions for commencing the appointment and recruitment process.Through a govt resolution dated June 24, the Public Health Department has approved staff positions for two public health institutions. Totally, 95 new posts have been sanctioned for the Referral Service Hospital and another 97 new posts for the women’s hospital, said Pharande.The Referral Hospital will include oncology, neuro-physician and neurosurgery, cardiology, plastic surgery, x-ray, pathology, nursing, and various other non-medical departments, thus bringing state-of-the-art medical services to Nashik’s people and North Maharashtra.The women and children’s hospital will include a medical superintendent, gynaecologist and obstetrician, paediatrician, anaesthetist, nurses, technicians, administrative staff, and support staff.
The new creation of posts will provide the necessary manpower required to operationalize the hospital.This move opens up treatment facilities for several men, women, children, and poor citizens suffering from serious illnesses, including cancer, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, cardiac problems, and intensive neonatal care services. Citizens, however, hope that the construction of the two new hospitals is completed soon, as the process has been prolonged.
