Minister for Transport, Sports and Youth Services, Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy, described the alleged rape and murder of a minor girl at Madanapalle in Annamayya district as ‘deeply distressing’ and assured full support to the bereaved family.
The parents of the minor girl, who was allegedly sexually assaulted and later murdered, met the Minister at the Secretariat in Amaravati on Tuesday, seeking justice and assistance.
The Minister consoled the grieving parents and assured them full support of the State government. He stated that all necessary measures would be taken to ensure financial, legal, and psychological support, and that he would personally coordinate with the District Collector to provide comprehensive assistance. “As per the directions of the Chief Minister, ₹15 lakh ex-gratia would be paid to the family,” he said.
The shocking incident in Madanapalle led to widespread public outrage after it came to light early on February 17. The prime accused, Kulavardhan of Neerugattuvaripalle locality in Madanapalle, was found dead the next day, with his body floating in a pond. The police confirmed that the accused had ended his own life after escaping from police custody.
The Minister reiterated that the government would take stringent steps to prevent the recurrence of such heinous crimes.
