 ‘Sometimes it’s just about hanging on’

‘Greenland 2: Migration’ has officially hit OTT platforms worldwide, and fans cannot seem to get enough of the post-apocalyptic sequel of ‘Greenland.’ Recently, the lead actor of the film, Gerard Butler, who is also known for his work in ‘P.S.

I Love You’, ‘Law Abiding Citizen’, and ‘Olympus Has Fallen’, talked about working on the film, his experience, and the kind of themes it follows. Along with him, female lead star Morena Baccarin, who is known for ‘Sheriff Country’ and ‘The Wrecking Crew’, also added in what she thought about the film and what she felt while shooting for it as well.

While talking to News18 Showsha in a recent interview, Butler looked back at the ‘Greenland’ franchise and opened up about how it was like to work on the thriller film.

He opened up about how the one thing he loves best about the film is that it is based around on having hope even when times are rough and life is throwing you one curveball after another.He stated, “That message of hope, and no matter how bad things might seem, sometimes you just got to hold on. At times it felt like maybe they had lost hope, or that that hope was such a small glimmer, but sometimes it’s just about hanging on.” Moreover, he pointed out that the film explores such themes and shows how just having some hope, or simply holding on for longer can go a long way and save you in the face of obstacles and issues.

He added, “just about having a bit of faith that you will get through this, or that somehow, some way, things will brighten up, that there is some kind of light at the end of the tunnel - is just don’t die, just don’t give up.”

Morena Baccarin also talks about working on ‘Greenland 2’

Talking about working on the film, the actress revealed that since the plot of the second film is about living in a bunker for more than 5 years, she drew a lot of experience from the pandemic. She recalled how it was like to stay under complete lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic, and how she drew parallels to adda touch of reality to the film.She cited that “We’ve had this pandemic, right, to draw on. I know what happened with my kids during that time and the way that people emotionally develop differently under those circumstances. So we were trying to borrow from that for this film.”

A sequel to the 2020 release, ‘Greenland 2’ is set around the story of the Garrity family as they have to leave the bunker behind where they have been living for the past 5 years. With Earth’s unstable environment and an unlivable bunker forces the family to traverse across Europe in search of a new home while dealing with the repurcussions of the intersteller event that wiped out most of the civilization.
