A district-level ASHA’s (Accredited Social Health Activists) grievance redressal meeting for the first quarter of 2025-26 was held at Anubhava Mantapa, the office of Mysuru District Health and Family Welfare Officer on Wednesday.
Addressing the meeting chaired by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mysuru Zill Pancyayat S. Ukesh Kumar, the District Health and Family Welfare Officer Kumaraswamy said there were a total of 1,730 ASHA’s serving in Mysuru district.
“For their services ASHA’s collectively receive about ₹65 to ₹70 lakh per month as performance-based incentives and about ₹80 to ₹85 lakh per month as fixed honorarium, which is directly credited to their bank accounts,” he said.
At the community level, ASHA’s played a crucial role in implementing various national health programmes to ensure sustainable health development. Their key activities include home visits, organising health and nutrition days in both rural and urban areas, conducting awareness meetings at field level, maintaining health records, spreading awareness about nutrition, basic sanitation and healthy practices, besides information on promoting healthy lifestyle and creating awareness in the community about the available health services.

He also instructed them to distribute claim forms for incentive payments to ASHA’s every month.
He also assured that the other demands raised by ASHA’s will be communicated to the State-level officials for further action.
