Shocking scenes unfolded near Howrah Station as human body parts were found scattered on the road in Chatterjee Para, between Dasnagar and Tikiapara stations on the South Eastern Railway line.
Body parts, including legs and heads, were reportedly strewn across the area, with the dismembered body left unattended for hours as neither the local police nor the Government Railway Police (GRP) arrived promptly.
Eventually, the Santragachi GRP recovered the body after 3 am. According to reports, the incident occurred on the railway line that crosses Natbar Paul Road, where a person was fatally hit by a train around midnight.
The impact reportedly tore the body apart, resulting in the horrifying sight of body parts scattered on the road. A dispute also emerged over whether the local police or the railway police should oversee the recovery.
