The same ended up revealing figures that sent shockwaves through the community, pointing out that the total cost could easily surpass $3 billion by the time the game launches later this year.

The findings come from publicly available financial filings for Rockstar Games UK Limited, which is the official corporate name for Rockstar North.

It is basically the Edinburgh-based studio primarily responsible for GTA 6's development. The aforementioned Reddit user compiled all available documents from 2020 to 2026. Additionally, they tallied expenses related solely to employee wages and salaries, tracking spending from the point GTA 6 is believed to have entered full production in 2019. Why the real GTA 6 budget could be much higher?

This means the $2.1 billion figure accounts for only one of Rockstar's many global studios.
