Gandhinagar: Chief secretary Manoj Das has directed all departmental secretaries to expedite the implementation of approved projects by ensuring timely tendering, land allocation, inter-departmental approvals and forest land clearances.
In a note sent to all secretaries, Das said departments must ensure that tenders are floated for all works approved in the budget. He also instructed that work orders be issued before the end of the monsoon so that project execution can begin immediately thereafter. He also said that all departments should ensure that land required for approved projects has been allocated. “In cases where land allotment is pending, the details of such pendency may be shared with my office immediately,” the note said.
It further said that any department yet to submit proposals for land allotment to the revenue department must do so without delay, while keeping the ACS, revenue department, and the CS office informed.“All departments shall ensure that all required inter-departmental approvals, clearances and NOCs are obtained on priority. Any pending approvals, along with reasons for the delay and the proposed timeline for resolution, should be reported to my office,” the note added.
The CS said in the note to secretaries that in order to facilitate expeditious forest clearances, a land bank of approximately 4,900 hectares in Kutch has been created in coordination with the forest department for compensatory afforestation and that all departments should make optimal use of this facility to obtain clearances at the earliest.
