Gujarat, Haryana petition panels discuss transparency, public voice

Gandhinagar: A joint meeting of the petition committees of the Gujarat and Haryana legislative assemblies on Monday discussed the committees’ experiences pertaining to democratic values, legislative procedures, and transparent mechanisms for addressing citizens’ concerns.

The meeting was held at the Gujarat assembly.Emphasising a petition committee’s role, deputy speaker Purnesh Modi said it serves as a platform to bring the voice of the people directly to the legislative assembly and to take concrete steps to address citizens’ grievances.He added that the committees of both states share a common commitment to understanding procedural rules, maintaining transparency in their functioning, and resolving public issues effectively.
