In a first-of-its-kind initiative in India, Gujarat Police has developed an artificial intelligence-driven tool, ‘NARIT AI’ (Narcotics Analysis & RAG-based Investigation Tool), to strengthen investigation and prosecution in narcotics cases under the NDPS Act.

The tool, built on Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) technology, is aimed at assisting investigating officers with real-time analytical inputs by integrating legal provisions, case laws and procedural guidelines. Officials said the system is designed to address procedural gaps that often weaken prosecution in narcotics cases.
