Gumla: 29-year-old man dies by suicide in Kulahi-Bendora village, police cite depression

Gumla: A 29-year-old man died allegedly by suicide at his home in Kulahi-Bendora village on Saturday, with police suspecting that he had been battling depression.The deceased, identified as Vibhishan Tuti, was a traditional bamboo craftsman who had recently been working as a labourer in Ranchi, while his wife stayed in the village with their two children.According to police, Tuti returned home three days ago after learning that his wife had left the house with their children. He was unable to contact her as her mobile phone was switched off.Police said the incident left him distressed and reportedly consumed alcohol throughout Saturday before hanging himself with a rope at his house later that night.“About a month ago, Tuti had approached the police station alleging that his wife would frequently leave home with their children and return after some time. Three days ago, she again left the house. Disturbed by this, he allegedly died by suicide on Saturday night. The post-mortem examination was conducted on Sunday,” Chainpur police station officer-in charge Arvind Kumar said.
