According to the police, a complaint was lodged at the Chebrolu Police Station on June 21 by Shaik Aashiya of Vejendla village, stating that her 13-year-old son, Shaik Jameer Ahmed, had gone missing. During the course of the investigation, the police found that two other boys, Rayala Bharat (12) of Suddapalli village and Thupakula Venkata Gopi (15) of Gundavaram village, had also left their homes on June 20.
Guntur District Superintendent of Police Vakul Jindal said that special teams were formed comprising Ponnur Rural Circle Inspector, Chebrolu Sub-Inspector and others.
Police examined CCTV footage, analysed technical evidence, scrutinised mobile phone call records, traced locations and conducted inquiries in multiple places to track the boys’ movements.
