GURGAON: A 31-year-old delivery executive died after his motorcycle was hit by a car in Sector 59 late on Jan 25. An FIR has been registered against an unidentified driver for rash and negligent driving.The victim, Kabir Sheikh, from Murshidabad in West Bengal, lived as a tenant in Ghatta village and worked as a delivery executive at a Blinkit store in Sector 59. He was on duty at the time of the accident, an officer said.Police said the accident occurred around 10pm. Kabir sustained serious injuries and was rushed to General Hospital in Sector 10 for treatment by onlookers. Despite medical treatment, Kabir succumbed to his injuries.
Doctors said he died due to severe injuries sustained in the accident.Sector 65 police station received information about the accident from the hospital and collected the medico-legal report. The victim's family was informed soon after. Kabir's sister, Hasina Khatoon, a domestic help residing in the Wazirabad Dhanie area of Sector 52, reached the hospital after receiving a phone call about the incident. In her complaint, Hasina alleged that a red-coloured Brezza car, as informed by bystanders, hit her brother's motorcycle.
The registration number and driver details are not yet known. She said the vehicle was being driven at high speed and in a negligent manner, and demanded strict action against the driver. Based on the complaint and medical records, police registered an FIR under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Sector 65 police station. Police said efforts were underway to identify the vehicle and trace the driver involved in the accident.
