Guruvayur declared as municipality free of extreme poverty

Guruvayur municipality has been declared free of extreme poverty under the State government’s mission to achieve a “Kerala without extremely poor families.” The announcement was made by MLA N.K. Akbar at a function held at the Guruvayur Town Hall on Friday.

As part of the initiative, a municipal-level survey identified 188 people living in extreme poverty. They were provided with housing for the homeless, ration cards, essential ID cards, medicines, and food kits. Those in need of livelihood assistance were supported through self-employment schemes. Municipal chairperson M. Krishnadas presided over the function.
