Actress and entrepreneur Gwyneth Paltrow recently played a cheeky round on her podcast, choosing between three of her former co-stars: Robert Downey Jr., Timothée Chalamet, and Jude Law.
The segment quickly went viral for Paltrow’s candid, humorous, and refreshingly unfiltered take on the imaginary challenge.
Gwyneth Paltrow Chooses Robert Downey Jr. as Her Hypothetical Partner
Speaking on the Goop podcast, Paltrow said she’d choose Robert Downey Jr. as her hypothetical husband, citing their long-standing friendship and on-screen chemistry from the Iron Man franchise. She joked that they were already “married in movies” and imagined a life filled with laughter, travel, and eccentric adventures if they were together in real life.
“I would marry Robert because we would just laugh so much and have such a fun, weird life and travel.
And anyway, I'm already—basically—I am married to him in movies, so what's the difference?” she said.
Jude Law Gets the Steamy Vote
When asked who she’d choose for a romantic fling, Paltrow leaned towards Jude Law, her co-star from The Talented Mr. Ripley, Contagion, and Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. She said the decision was tough but ultimately chose Law over Chalamet, joking that sleeping with Timothée would feel like “robbing the cradle”.
Despite the rules of the game, Paltrow refused to eliminate any of the three. She laughed off the premise and declared that she’d rather marry all of them.
Real-Life Relationships and Sizzling Screen Chemistry
Paltrow has been married to producer Brad Falchuk since 2018 and spoke warmly about his unconditional love during the same podcast episode. She described him as someone who never gets annoyed and always makes her feel supported.Meanwhile, her chemistry with all three actors has been well documented. She recently filmed steamy scenes with Timothée Chalamet for their upcoming sports drama Marty Supreme, which she described as involving “a lot of sex” in a recent interview with Vanity Fair. With Jude Law, she’s shared screen space across multiple genres, and with Robert Downey Jr., her portrayal of Pepper Potts remains one of the MCU’s most beloved character arcs.
